I'm planning my next rig.. I'm currently using a furman m-8x for my current rig, but I tough I could get a better one for the next one. But my question mainly is: is it worth it?

Here are my contenders Furman M-8dx, PL-PLUS C or PL-PLUS DMC or maybe Monster 2500

The only difference between m-8dx and pl-plus c seems to be the lift technology. It's supposed to clean ac noise even more. Will I really hear a difference in my sound? Has any1 done side by side comparisons?

Or any other suggestion is accepted but I'd like to keep it under 300$ even 200$ if possible...

Monster Power all the way. I've owned a few Fuhrmans in the past. They're academic. I wasn't impressed with them. Beside, they are copying Monster by putting out their own power conditioner units to keep Monster from taking their market share. Look in high end studios and see what they use... Monster.

I don't understand what you mean by "academic" in this context. Why were you not impressed by your Fuhrmans?

Beside, they are copying Monster by putting out their own power conditioner units to keep Monster from taking their market share.

Don't all companies have this goal? You have to compete with what's out there if you are in business.

Look in high end studios and see what they use... Monster.

Again, why?

I'm not saying you are wrong - just that your post contains some strong words but has no information for why you feel this way. Might be helpful for the OP if you can explain it.

I tought I'd get more feedback on this. I didn't expect monster to be praised. I saw a few reviews that say they break easily.

So no one roots for furman?

You said that all the studio are monster inclined but all the artists I see use furman... (almost)

I'll chime in real quick and just say I've had 2 Furman's for 11 years, and never have had a problem!

It wasn't my intention to cause a fire fight or posture. I based this solely on personal experience like most of the posts here. Use it for what it's worth... to help make an informed decision from many different viewpoints. I've owned 2 Fuhrmans in the past. My reference "academic" was that the features and cosmetics, especially variable levels of line conditioning were never available until Monster really developed and pushed it. Once I pulled the Fuhrman out of my rack and replaced it with a Monster,( in my case) most of the inherent line noise disappeared. It seemed to me that Fuhrman only copied the idea because they had too. Not because they were innovators. I'm not a recording engineer... far from it. But in the several different studios I recorder in over the years, all were Monster powered except one. That told me something. Finally, to be fair, I've had no mechanical issues of breakdown or poor craftsmanship with either Fuhrman or Monster. It's simply a matter of personal preference.
