Hi, I'm looking to trade my excellent condition DC-10 head for something a little different. Mostly into 80s and 90s Boogies... Let me know what you've got!

I'm located in Tempe, Arizona.

Hey dude, we were gonna do a trade a long time ago, then you vanished off the face of the earth!
I didn't think much of it, but I'm just curious what happened? :)

You only wanting to trade for Boogies?

Not necessarily, but I like them the most.

That's a bit of a story, but another member and myself were scammed by a dude in Florida. It never crossed my mind to check the forum while I was stressing over getting my amp back. I see you actually posted in the guy's other listing(http://forum.grailtone.com/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=33947).

Apologies for not getting back to you.

Any cosmetic or functional issues at all? Any mods or repairs?

I have a minty Heartbreaker head that I might be interested in trading for your DC...

Not really interested in Heartbreakers.

The amp is functionally perfect, with mint tolex and the master volume mod. Only notable flaw is a faceplate scratch going through the "10" of the "Dual Caliber DC-10" lettering, not even visible in the photos. No repairs that I know of.

Oh that guy, yeah I was lucky I saw through his lies, hopefully you didn't suffer a big loss?

Wow man, how did you pull that off?
You should give us the story, it might come in handy for some one. :)

Ok, here's the tale:

I agreed to a trade deal with the scammer too hastily, under the premise he would be shipping his amp that same day after work. I stop by UPS and ship my side of the deal off as agreed, but don't hear back from the guy. Already I'm getting that sinking feeling in my stomach that I got ripped off, and demand to know what the deal is. He starts to give me increasingly absurd excuses for not sending the amp, and I realize there was pretty much no chance of ever seeing the thing.

Although UPS offers services to stop shipments before they reach the destination, customer service gave me some b.s. as to why they couldn't help me. It was kind of funny because each time I called, they gave me a different reason why it couldn't be done. At this point things look hopeless and I decide to stop by the boards to warn people about the scammer. I stumbled across that Mark IV thread before making mine, and got in touch with adonixx to form a plan of attack.

We both threatened the scammer with getting the local police involved, and this dude started sh*tting bricks. He called and left me 3 or 4 voicemails, telling the "true story" of how the address my amp was being sent to was just a shipping service who wasn't otherwise associated with him. Adonixx got in touch with the store owner to explain the situation, so he promptly agreed to refuse delivery of my stolen amp. UPS returned it, problem-free and free of charge. :D
