I usually test the tubes in any amp I buy. Then, if they test ok, I put them back in the amp and put it in standby for about 10 minutes and then slowly bring her up. If the tubes don't test decent, I retube. If the amp is suffering from microphonics, I retube.

As far as pulling the tubes goes, you might feel out the buyer. I would pay less for an amp that doesn't have tubes than one that at least had a full complement. Some guys won't care either way provided it works because they might not like your tube choice. I kind of like getting a selection that isn't what I would normally try only because it gives you tube swap stock and spares if you don't really like them. New tubes regardless of manufacturer and type are always nice because at least you know the amp works without having to go buy tubes to find out.

I think there are enough people on CL that would want to come pick that up. I haven't seen a RK on there in a while (LA, OC, or SD). Still e-bay might get you the highest bidder in a bidding war. If I weren't doing the 2 ch Dual evolution right now I might be interested depending upon the price. You'll probably have the best luck with someone that doesn't know about Barney's history though full disclosure is always considerate. Ninja Barney should still fetch a decent price.

A lot of people here like the Ace. Try one if you want something kind of Marshally (I know from your posts you hate Marshalls now).

The Mark IV is pretty sweet man. You might check one out. It gives you a little more control knob separation between your channels. Auto EQ settings on R2 and Lead is kind of cool too. The current ones have satellite send for multiple amp rigs. Just a thought.

frankly bro, I am very happy I traded my Stage I deuce for the mark III. there really is very little in the way of tone in the deuce that I can't get out of the mark III.

and whats this about a black RK cab? dude, it was born purple, and it belongs purple
