Up for sale is my 2000 Mark IV 'B' Widebody Combo. I am the second owner of the amp. I purchased it a while back. The amp is in great condition with only one little nick in the tolex. Other than that, the standby switch had to be replaced. The amp sounds and performs fantastic, but a case of G.A.S. has hit me and I need to come up with the funds for a new EBMM. I'm asking $1400 + shipping in the USA only. Amp will come with the footswitch and extra Mesa 6L6 tubes. Feel free to shoot me an offer or email me at [email protected] if you have any questions. Thanks for taking the time to read this. Here are a couple pics:

no, not at all... the c90 is a 90 watt speaker that's found in the mark combos and older mark cabs.. the vintage 30 is 60 watts, it's what's in the recto 2x12 and 4x12 cabs.. v30s tend to break up at lower volume so you'll get a different sound..

i bet that thing sounds awesome cranked on full/simul
(btw that's a joke.. the IV cranked @ 85 watts+ might be a bit much for that little guy all by himself)

I've already blown my right ear drum out once, no need to do it again

I think the meant the 60 watt speaker doesn't have the capacity to handle the 85 watt Mark IV.

Gotcha. If the V30 is only 60 watts, wouldn't that mean that the speaker in the Widebody Combo is the C90 being that the V30 wouldn't be able to handle all the wattage?

no, it would mean that the first owner replaced the stock c90 with a v30.

the v30 shouldn't usually be used in the combo unless it's used with another speaker cab, or with the mark iv set on a lower wattage setting (class a/tweed etc.) or used at low volume..

the speaker is replaceable, but if it blows and drops its load it could mess up your tranny... damn that sounded dirty...

I barely ever turn my master volume past 2. The speaker should be fine then right?

yeah probably.. as long as it sounds good and looks ok.. it might turn some people off though, as much work as it would be it might make it easier to sell if you dropped a c90 or EV in there and sold the v30 on ebay

How much do C90's or EV's generally go for?

never bought one by itself so i'm not totally sure, but i think you can swing $75 or so for a c90 and $120 or so for an EV.. check ebay and the classified section on here if you want a better idea

Eltrain, what exactly would cause a speaker to drop its load? So with the vintage 30 thats in the combo now, would it be safe to run the amp in simulclass with the master on 2? Thanks for the help by the way. Much appreciated.
