Framus-Cobra-Head.jpg

Has anyone ever played one, whats your opinion? I may have a chance to pick one up, but other than sales pitch reviews I'd like to hear some first hand accounts from my Mesa brethren.

check the HC forums, they tend to be douche bags but alot of them have framus and splawn amps

Here is a link to some clips of amps....all user submitted, owned by the owners at ultimate-guitar.com

Framus is there! I can get you the guys contact information if you're interested! He praises the amp, and his clips do a very good job also!

I have played that head. Matter of fact I may be buying one today. Very cool sound. It is way different than other amps I've checked out. The eq seems to function a little different than I'm accustomed to. Deep knob is very cool. The clean is very nice. I really was impressed. I have a triple x and it's clean sucks. The eq is really cool though. When you bring up the mids it doesn't get harsh, it just makes the amp have more in the mid section. The highs weren't shrilly sounding and the bass is really deep. I have only used it through the cobra cab though. The distortion is very brutal , but not out of hand. Really you'd have to try it out yourself. The first time I played it I didn't like it as much. The last time I had more time to mess with it and found lots of tones that I liked. Kind of reminds me of "Testament the new order" type of distorrtion. Not sure what Skolnik muses , but that's what ir reminded me of.

I'm actually trading someone my ENGL Savage 120 for his Cobra. I'll post some clips and reviews soon
