formula preamp

anyone ever use one? how does it compare to the studio preamp and quad preamp in terms of sound? i know the older preamps are based on the mark series, the formula is like the heartbreaker...

I had a Fomula back in 2001 for a while.

Great clean Fender type sound but the Quad pre amp sounds way better. I haven't worked with clean sound much so that's the only thing the Formula does better.

Also the gain structure is different. The Quad is MK IIC and MK III where the Formula is more something else more Maverick like.
