Mother f@cker sounded awesome!! It is a combo and was running it through my 412. I should be getting a Mesa widebody thiele on Tuesday so I can just run the combo speaker and thiele!!Was gonna get one made by someone here, but sweetwater contacted me and told me they received one in! It made my TSL sound like a toy! Now only if our bass player didnt get too drunk to remember how to play bass in the last set then the mother effer tried to say he was playing **** right and we were doing wrong. What the hell is it about alcohol and denial!! It wouldnt be so bad, but seems like he has more nights like this than good nights. Played my new Les Paul all night cept for Toadies "Possom Kingdom" and "Voodoo Chile". A few times in the first and second set everybody in the bar was up in front of the stage. The band area is seperate from the rest of the bar, so they heard something they liked and hung out for a while!

nice, I got to play my first show with my Mark IV this summer.
I have the same combo, I use a closed back 2x12 with mine.

I have had trouble with drunken band members as well, so I know how you feel.
If it continues I would have a long talk, I let things go to long and things ended badly.

Hope everything works out.

Mark IV + Gibson LP + Room full of people = Is my definition of a really good day in life

It was a really good day till the last set, and thanks your post made me smile! My girls are having a sleepover tonight, so I got 4 loud girls and a little brother fighting and watching Coraline at the moment. I did plug into my amp for about 30 minutes though!

So are you playing with your combo speaker and a thiele? Does it give you the thump of a 412 and the cut of the open back of your amp? Do you have stock speakers in both? I cant wait till Tuesday to get my thiele widebody!!

I've never played my Mark IV through a 4x12 so I can't give you a direct comparison. I made my Thiele using the EV plan (see the DIY Thiele thread). Mine is loaded with a Mojotone BV-30 which is similar to a Celestion V-30. I have a EVM in the combo. The speakers are exactly backwards from what you'd expect, and what I originally intended to do, but it sounds really good to me.

The Thiele does add a good deal of directional bottom end and overall warmth to the sound that's a great complement to the open combo. Probably not as tight/mid-rangy as a closed back but plenty of thump. The open back retains the ability to do great chimey cleans and high end-cut.

Let me know what you think when you get your Thiele. I really enjoy mine.

Recently I guess. I called Mesa customer support to ask about the dimensions and he had a hard time getting them cause he said they havent made many. You can get them through sweetwater.com, but you will have to wait a while. The customer support guy at sweetwater was cool. He told me initially that it would be November before they got one, but then two days later he sent me an email that they recieved one in. He even checked the dimensions for me. If you want the sales guys info let me know and I will pm you.

congrats man! i've gigged with mine around 5 or 6 times now i think..every time i tweak it more at home, it sounds better at the next gig / rehearsal..i find it so easy to make adjustments with the GEQ depending on the venue as well (i hear alot of people complain about it sounding good at home, bad at rehearsals, ok at gigs etc, and any variation of that) ...after the first 15-20 minutes of the gig, the amp just starts to scream...i can't get enough

Got it this morning(thiele). Sounds pretty big! I will get to crank it with the band at practice tomorrow(hopefully), but we dont have another gig for about a month  Maybe somebody will cancel and we will get a call

I did crank it a lil in my little music room and was making my computer and stuff rattle!
