Hey all,

I'm happy to say I've finally ordered my Mark V head and 1x12 cab. Unfortunately the head is out of stock over here in the UK till early august so I'm gonna have to wait a little more. Oh well it will be worth the wait I'm sure.

Is anyone else waiting or has had to wait a while for their Mark V to come into stock?

Paul

The normal sort of wait time for mesa amps is usually around 2 months

Really? I should count myself lucky then its not gonna take that long then.

Kudos to you for buying a new Mesa amp outside the USA

I bet you are referring to the price in the UK? And it being a lot of money.

I bought both of my Mesa Mark V's on the spot. The only Mesa gear I've ever had to "wait" for are my Triaxis and 2:90 set ups.

Yes, MESA amps are criminally overpriced in Europe. I'd be fine if for example Marshall or Orange or ENGL would be just as expensive over there but they're not, so I guess GAS isn't a fun thing to have this side of the pond.

It's just what we call rip off Britain over here. I'm paying off for my mark v I couldn't afford it other wise. I paid £2200 for the head which is about $3500 does that sound right. What's the price tag on the mark v over in the US?

Congrats, Paul! It will be WELL worth the wait.

Funny enough I got the call this morning, my Mark V has come in this morning. Sadly I'm stuck at work all day so won't get a chance to pick it up till monday. I guess I'll have to wait a little longer.

I believe I paid $2099 for my head version. Combo is a little more.

Yep just what I thought the UK is a rip off they charge so much more for mesa stuff. That works out to just over £1200 here in the UK. Its a £1000 more than the USA ridiculous.

Lol way ahead of you. I had the day off work today so I've basically spent half the day with the Mark V. I must say I'm really impressed love it. It sounds so different to my road king 2 but definitely better to me anyway. After all these years playing a dual rectifier I think my ears need to adjust lol. I'm loving chan 1 Fat running at 90 watts sounds awesome especially with my TC G sys and my chorus patch. Chan 2 I'm loving the mark 1 sound set on thick at 90 watts again. I'm getting some really great classic tones with that. And I'm running channel 3 on the Mark IV with a bit of the EQ engaged and that really gets all my high gain stuff.

Here's a couple of photo's of the Mark V, my 2x12 and 1x12 cab.I must say I was impressed with the sound coming out of the 1x12 cab it sounds really loud and I only set the output level nearly half way and the channels were at about 9 o clock maybe a little higher. I won't lie I had to turn it down lol I guess the real test will be with the band though. The ideal test will be with the 2x12 but you can still get a really good sound with the 1x12 which I'm login' a lot.

I'll have to do some more experimenting running at a lower wattage just to see what its like. Anyway here's the pics thanks for all the input guys.

Looks great! Be sure to try Mark I mode in 45w with tube rectification and try the same on Channel 1.

Also worth mentioning is that the original IIC+ was wired in triode so for a more accurate representation be sure to flip the switch on the back to triode when using this mode.

Glad you are digging the amp! It does everything I need it to do.
