I was just curious if anyone here has any experience running a fender twin w/ v30s and or an enclosed back and if so what impressions you have.

I really don't know because I'm a guitarist that like to stay "inside the box" so I would recommend Jensens P12N, Weber 12F150, or Weber 12A150 depends if you like compression of alnicos, JBL D120fs ... for a Twin.

As you aware Celestion Vintage 30s are like Greenbacks with more SPL "ummfffff" and handles more wattage.

I was a repair shop and saw a pair of Vintage 30s for cheap, practically brand new. He said someone with a Fender Twin Re-Issue decided to experiment with Vintage 30s. Didn't like them and went back to the stock speakers.

Well that's one opinion. Bump up for others to chime in.

Thanks for the info-I have a '74 twin that has the original speakers in it and I'm interested in trying something different.

vintage 30's in a regular twin cab will be too bright and harsh.

v30's in a closed back cab with the twin acting as a head is a fantastic sound. much more focused and controllable than a regular twin combo.
