I've never played the Super-Sonic, but a Boogie for more equivalent comparison would be the LS Classic. The higher wattage of the LSC and 6L6 power tube types would give a spec fairly similar to the Super-Sonic.

this guy uses Supersonic Head to do metal! so it seems to be capable of hi-gain distortions too. Add the classic wonderful clean channel of a fender amp (super-sonic has two voicing for clean channel: 1 vibrolux style, 2 bassman style)... this should really be a great amp!

I A/B'd the Super-Sonics with the LSC 1X12 with the intention of trading in my LSC for the Combo, and the Mesa basically blows away the SS, IMHO. Mobetta cleans, better Rev. better crunch, but it is about $600 more than the SS. Don't get me wrong, the SS is a great amp, but it's not an LSC. BTW, I also tried the SS head with the 4X12 cab. Better and beefier than the combo, (to be expected) but still not in the LSC realm quite yet!

to those of you who have tried it, how 'high gain' are the high gain sounds? are we talking like loanstar gain, or more on tap, someone on ebay says it goes to 'mesa like distortion', ha ha ha whatever that means. :lol:
