Hi,

I was wondering if anyone has used the Behringer FCB1010 to channel switch the Mesa Rectifier Preamp? If so, should I be using a stereo cable (that's my guess) or just a standard guitar cable will do the trick?
Can I damage the Rec Pre in any way if I use a different lead to what I should?

I'm waiting for my G Major to arrive so until then I'm going to use the FCB1010 to switch channels (plus control other gear)

Thanks,
Ritchie

And I just realised I have to access the solo function also so maybe a stereo cable from the fcb1010 to 2 mono cables into the Mesa's Channel switching and Solo fucntion.

So noone's done this before? I'm willing to try it but I'd like to know no damage will be done if it's not the right way :?

Ok, I thought I'd give it a shot. Couldn't wait :)

After some trial and error I succeeded with this. 2 mono cables from the fcb1010's switch one and two outputs into the Mesa's channel switching and solo inputs. Configured the fcb1010 and all is sweet 8)

(I thought I'd post it hear for the next poor soul who's trying to work this out :) )

How will you be using the Gmajor to switch channels on the rec pre?

The G-major has one switch output doesnt it? So will you need a custom cable to go to the separate channel and solo jacks on the back of the rec pre?

Yes, only one out. My Gmajor has been lost in the post (thanks usps) so I've yet to try it out. At the moment, I have my FCB1010 doing all the channel switching using the 2 outputs. I couldn't get it happening with only one. I'm hoping the G Major will be able to do it all. Not sure until I get it.
If anyone has done it, post details. That would be great!

I have my g major switching my dual rec tremoverb. I'm running it through my ground control pro which doesn't have any relays. however.. all i had to do was connect a chord to the switch out(or whatever it's called) on the back of my g major to the channel swithcer port on the front of my amp using a stereo cable. or...in your case since you have a solo channel... do just like you did using a stereo split into two. The g major has two relays and even the fcb1010 has two so you would have no problem hooking that up either way. But you could easily control it using just the g major. I have one of my ground controls buttons to recieve a cc for amp switching too so i can switch whenever i need to and not just on preset changes. Hope that helps you out.
I got my g major like three weeks ago and i think i'm messing with it at least two hours every night unitl last night i finally found the exact tones and configurations i want for my bands set list.
So if you need any help on working anything out on yours just let me know... i've basically done anything it can do and know what problems you might face with learing it.

Cool, cheers for the offer. I'll hit you up if I have any issues (if I ever get it grrrr)

So did you try running it in series but preferred the fx loop?

I prefer the effects loop simply because modulation effects (which is what the gmajor is full of) usually sound better in the fx loop. I use the kill dry and have my send at about 2:00 and my return at like 9:00. It sounds pretty killer.

oneamongthefence is using a tremoverb head, not a rectifier preamp. I think your question is aimed more at people using the G-major in the loop of the Rec pre, which is a different kettle of fish altogther.

Ive got the similar setup as you rdomain (Rec pre, g-major, FCB1010), except im waiting on a few little things to get the whole thing up and running. I'll let you know how I get on. The guy I bought the Rec Pre off didnt give me the footswitch (forgot?), so i'll be using the G-major to change channels and access the solo feature.

That'd be great. It could be months before I get my G Major :(

As for the Mesa switch; once you're set up, you won't even use that switcher anyway. Still good to have though.
