Fan on Mark IIB Head (modded to a IIC+)

I have had a problem of my fan rubbing up against the reverb in my Mark IIC+ Head (originally IIB but modded by MB to a IIC+).

I have tried a number of things (tighten reverb tank, replace reverb tank, change angle on fan, etc...) to no avail.

Now I just flipped my Fan over, and the problem is solved.

I am just concerned that flipping the fan over may make my head overheat.

Does anyone have any insight into whether this could be problem? (I do have 3-4 hour long gig/practice sessions)

You could try inserting rubber grommets between the fan and reverb tank like the ones used for mounting the reverb tank and the shell.
Put one in each corner.
