f/s- 1992 Dual Recto Blackface #528 (Rev E)

Hey everyone. I have an ABSOLUTE MINT blackface Dual Recto that I might consider parting with, if the price is right. The serial number is: 528 , which means yes... it is the absolute rarest of them all with the Revision E. There were less than 40 of these heads made!! EVER! The revision E has the best of both pre and post 500's. I also have a mint Mesa 4X12 slanted cab loaded with vintage celestions. The head was recently completely retubed through eurotubes, which cost me over $200.00! It has a combination of kt77 & el34 for the power section. This lowers the wattage rating, so you can actually use it one a stage to keep volumes low and still get the mesa tube saturation!

If you are interested, know how valuable this amp is and are not going to try to low-ball me, then please

Dates, etc.:

"IVY" written on botton of tranny in red sharpie. "KP" written in black sharpie on the blue battery looking things.

"9/23 '92 Ivy" written on bottom of metal chassis.

I dunno

But I did email him asking for a price and he wouldn't give me a straight answer.

After about 2-3 emails back and fourth, I just told him to send me a price if he ever decides on one....

So about 4 hrs later he emails me back and said "$3000 and it's yours!!!" because of the rarity of the Rev E.

I emailed him back and told him that he's lucky if he gets half that. And then explained to him how Rare Rev E (being more than 40) aren't as rare as he claims... and why they are rare.

He won't email me back now. /shrugs.

Wow. $3k for a Rev E?

Holy price inflation, Batman!

I don't care how rare they are, $3k for an amp that was deemed not fit for large scale production is crazy! I'm sure it sounds great, but me, being a player, can't justify spending that much for it.

I'm sure it'll make a collector very happy though. Hell, you could get 2 Rev F's for that much.
