Sorry this may have come up before but I'm still confused about the external switching on the back of my dual 3 channel rectifier. I see Channels 1,2,3,solo and loop. I have a multi effects that I want to only use on channel 1 and 3. What is the loop for? I've never seen this on an amp so forgive my ignorance.

They are for use with MIDI. You can hook a switcher of some sort, such as the GCX Audio Switcher, to each of those triggers, to control the functions with a MIDI controller. On my Mark IV, using the External Switching allows me to control it with my GCX Ground Control Pro, along with the rest of my rig.

Hope that helps!

exactly.... one of the hidden gems of mesa amps.... you would think all companies would have external switching with amps that have more than a few functions but you'd be suprised.

Thanks a ton! There was just a short description on the mesa manual.

its definitely worth looking into if you have any midi fx units.... basically you can get a midi switcher like the amp gizmo and you'll have the flexibility of an amo like a l6 vetta... no more tap dancing because you can switch channels, functions (fx loop, solo, reverb), and fx all with the push of a button..... every guitar player should have one..... better yet mesa should make their amps with a midi switching system
