Hey! How goes it?

I am running a mxr carbon copy through the fx loop in the mark v. However, when I use it I experience tone loss. The tone sounds flatter and loses some bright/treble. Do any of you guys experience tone loss when running delay in the fx loop? Also, is there a good substitute for the carbon copy that might fix the problem? Thanks!

I have the same problem with a Carbon Copy. My only recommendation is to use a delay pedal/rack unit that can handle line levels.

I got rid of my Carbon Copy before switching to the Mark V.

I now have a TC Nova Delay. It works perfectly with the Mark V, and I don't miss the CC at all. The Nova Delay, despite being digital, can do analog delay-simulations very nicely.

Finally picked up an Eventide TimeFactor.

The thing has tons of headroom, so zero distortion in the delays. It has a true bypass mode and I can't hear a difference in my dry tone between it being on and in bypass.

Well, if you can afford $2100 for an amp...

Nova Repeater. Less bones, fewer bells and whistles, same sound quality. Can run on 9 - 12 volts.

Well, I got the amp with my tax returns. Just had to spend 800 bucks on the wifes car. I guess if I sold my Carbon Copy I could throw in the extra, but I cant do it right now. Too many other things going on.

My TimeFactor is awesome in the loop...no loss of tone. After investing in a MKV I wouldn't settle for anything less!
