so i was browsing around on the eurotubes website and stumbled across a page that shows an "integrated quad" of 6L6 and E34L's (2 of each) that according to them, draw the same natural plate current. it mentions something about a dual rectifier (which is what i play). i think it is something i'd like to try, but i'm not sure how it would affect the amp. if they are all drawing the same plate current, does that mean that i can run them in the DR without causing any harm (leaving it on the 6L6 setting i'm guessing?). i'm fairly new to the complexity of tubes, so be gentle. lol. i've had my DR for some time, but always bought mesa tubes to be safe, but now i want to branch out some and try new things. so basically, i just want to make sure that this won't hurt the amp.
i've also been thinking of trying a matched quad of the E34L's instead of 6L6's because i've heard they tighten it up a bit. (no, i don't want it to be mark IV tight. although the mark is a wonderful amp, please don't suggest to get a mark ) any suggestions with that? i've heard great things about eurotubes and will probably buy from them. thanks for the information everyone!
