Hi guys
I've recently acquired a 60W Mark III blue stripe with no EQ, reverb or simul-class. I got it for a reasonable price so I thought I'll just get me an EQ pedal for the lack of the original GEQ. So which EQ would be similar to the original GEQ?
I have a Boss RGE-10 I've been using with my JCM800-clone to get some Slayer-sounds (boosting guitar signal), but I think it sounds a bit weird in the loop. Like it would boost some overtones when I'm cutting boomy lo-mids. I ran the amp through my recording rig (FX Send -> Line input, then Line out -> FX Return) and used a parametric EQ plugin, which gave a lot more neutral sound, no weird overtones. Too bad I can't have my Mac Pro with me on gigs all the time =)
So I just want a nice sounding pedal I can put inside the head shell and keep it there switched on all the time. Will MXR 6-band do?
