Hi guys,

I have money to spent (lol) and I would consider adding the ENGL E530 in my rack:

Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifer (Head)
Behringer BTR2000
Furman PQ6
Furman PL Plus serie II
ISP Decimator ProRackG
TC G Major

Now the question...can I use the ENGL with the Dual Rectifer (only has a power amp)

If I cant do this...what power amp would you guys suggest?

also if I run it with an power amp, I have 2 heads now but can I plus the rack in someway in both amp?

You can use the ENGL going into fx loop return of the dual recto but then you won't be able to use the preamp of your dual.

There are plenty of choices if you want a separate power amp. I use a VHT 2/50/2 with my E530 which sounds awesome and I got a great deal on it used. You can't go wrong with any of the Mesa power amps and on the used market the prices are good. The ENGL power amps are nice but really pricey. Carvin has a cheap tube power amp that I have heard good and bad reviews of. The cheapest tube power amps you'll find used are the old Peavey Classic power amps. They are good sounding and built well.

If you just want the ENGL for another tone to play around with for recording and jamming once in a while you could just get by running it into your recto's loop. If you are looking to play live and switch back and forth or use both...then a separate power amp is the way to go.

The E530 has a built in solid state 1.5W poweramp. However, you may opt to have a seperate poweramp unit if you prefer to go that way...
