What have you guy's found best for a pedal board through the loop or front of the amp? My MKIV and 50+ I run everything but my H&K Rotosphere (always in the loop) in the front. I'm thinking the C= sounds a little different that way.

Depends on what pedal it is. i always do this no matter what amp. overdrive, wah analog delay and distortion into the amp and digital delay chorus reverb and pitch shift in the fx loop.

Very much like Shep, I've always followed the general rule of running tone shaping effects (wah/overdrive/dist/boost/etc.) in front, modulation/time based effects (phaser/flanger/chorus/delay/tremolo/reverb/etc.) in the loop. I've found that modulation/time based effects muddy up within the gain stage and turn notes and chords to mush.

Truth is, whatever sounds good to your ears is right for you. Everything else is a place to start from...

+1, on all counts

I'll try putting my delay and tremolo into the loop with the C+. It does get muddy. It's funny because all my Boogies are fine with it in the front. I_ll try it tonight.

Much Thanks!

I can get away with modulation pedals in the front of my Mark IV; not so good with the C+

Thanks Dodger least I know I'm not crazy! It seems to be muddy with the + but fine with the IV. I practiced last night but didn't take my pedal board so I have not tried it in the loop yet. How do you like modulation in the loop of your C+?
