I've looked through a lot of pages on here and found all sorts of pics of this mod for singles/duals/triples???...just wondering if anyone has a pic of this for a solo 50 before I attempt to start working on this brand new amp. The effects loop does not work well for what I want...a lexicon processor for a little delay and chorus and a dbx compressor/gate. I just want a loop like every other amp I've ever owned has. It's the only thing I don't like about this head, sounds great otherwise. Please help!! :?: Thanks.

ah yes it has that stupid parallel mesa loop! There is only one difference between a parallel and series loop on the schematic. So should be as simple as disconnecting the pots connection to the return side.

so just unsolder the wire that goes to the pot on the return side?? ok. any pics...I'm handy with a soldering iron but never modded a brand new amp and don't want to screw anything up. A picture is worth a thousand words on this subject. I've seen some other images/schematics on here but I don't think they show the inside of the solo 50 head?? Thanks for the info, keep it coming :D

to me it looks like you solder the wire from the return jack, and the wife from the center lug of the pot together and insulate. You can then disconnect the last wire there and insult it.

You really should not be insulting the amp, it will take it out on you later!

That was beautiful!

However, that just sounds TOO simple.
I'm sure I'd f**k something up!

Just did the mod and it is very simple but a little tedious to get the wire soldered on the center lug. I guess i'll use electrical tape on the wire that was unsoldered from the right lug. I'll put the chassis back in and update on the tone difference.

EDIT: Sounds different, but better, so no harm! I haven't put any effects in the loop yet though...
