Other than the 100 watts and headroom, any difference in the sound/gain between a dual multi channel and a single solo. E.G. if 50 watts is enough, is the gain structure and tone more silmilar than not? If volume is not an issue (but cost is), is the sound of the dual worth the difference? Thanks.

Please do a search, duder. This topic has been covered in great quantity.

yes they are very similar but not exactly the same for a few reasons including the tube rectifier.

for someone new to recto's the biggest difference is 3 channels vs 2 channels. imo this makes the dual rec a lot more versatile but i still love my single!

that and the fact the dual has a warmer "tube" style of tone (the rectifier tubes have nothing to do with this) than the single...

I remember when I traded my single in for a dual, and tried the same modern red channel settings, my heart sank.

And then a few days later I had the thing sussed...
