OK, the problem is this: On the clean channel of the amp there is fairly loud hum that's not present on the other channel. I also have to run the volume as high as 3/4:00 to get it loud enough for band practises where I have the 2nd channel at about 10:00. Surely this can't be right?! Does anyone have an idea what could be causing these things?

P.S. If anyone knows and reputable amp techs in the U.K it would be good to hear from you!

Cheers guys,

Chris

The clean channel tends to be quiter than the others, but usually not that drastically. How much gain do you have dialed in on it?

It's about 12:00. I use high output pickups so my clean isn't very clean which sucks but I have to have it at 12:00 and my volume on at least 3:00 to get it loud enough.

Nah it can't be that I put a new set of JJs in recently. (The hum and lack of volume was present before and after the tube swap). :?
