Hello. I'm an electronics tech/ amp repairman living in Austin, TX. I need some people to volunteer their two channel Dual Rectifier amps for picture taking and parts identification for research and possible future book writing.
The Dual Rectifier is an iconic amp. It is my goal to record and research everything about these amps.
This includes removal of the chassis from cabinet and detailed digital photos and recording of component type/brand etc. No internal circuitry will be removed or displaced. All this can be done in front of you, so you know nothing weird is happening to your amp, and you can ask questions about the functioning of the amp and possibly learn more about it. It'll be fun!

There is a great deal of mystery in circuit revisions, and duplicate use of resistor/capacitor numbers on schematics as well as component choice. I'm currently compiling a list of all circuit components and trying to match the them to various years. Many are the same, in fact most are the same. You'll see changes in manufacturer of the 6v small signal relay, and brands of caps used in the bias supply and the 6v supply line.
I also need to compile a list of serial numbers and transformer codes.

People have collected some of this info already. **COUGHSILVERWULFCOUGH** and **COUGHELPELOTEROCOUGH**
I'm not about to send my amp out there but I would like to contribute. Is there any why I could take detailed photos with a digital camera and send you the info?

Silverwulf has been talking about a Recto guide for how many years?

I no longer own the amp, but I use to own the 5th ever made, here are my pictures of it and you can feel free to use them and ask me questions about it.
