Hey Guys,

I am experiencing a weird problem with my Dual Rec.

I blew a fuse at practice right after plugging it in. I replaced the fuse and now the amp only works in the Silicone Diode mode. No sound what so ever comes out of the cab when the head is set to the Tube Mode.

I replaced my tubes last month with brand new JJ's and they have been working well up to now.

Any ideas why I am experiencing this??

Thanks in advance.

Sounds like a bad recifier tube (one of the 5U4 tubes). Probably shorted momentarily, blowing the fuse, then open cicuiting after it cooled.

Thanks for the quick reply,

So you suggest swapping out a rec tube with an old working one?

Swap them all one by one if you can. That is where I would start. If you find a bad tube then you just saved the repair bill from the shop. Good luck!

Yep, one of your rectifier tubes is bad. Probably best to replace both of them.

+1

Good luck! Let us know if that fixes the problem! :D

Cool, I will replace the rec tubes with the original set.
Is it typical for a rectifier tube to glow normally even when blown? Mine show no visual signs of failure.
