dual rec volume loss on all channel! Help!

Hi everybody,

I fired up my dual recto a few days ago and something was really wrong: I have to max the volumes on each channel to be able to hear something. Appart from the volume loss, channel 1&3 still sound decent but channel 2 sounds like CRAP! I checked all cables and connections. Can someone explain me what happened? Power tubes have been changed 6 months ago...

I had this happen once when I had a bad speaker cable.

Try swapping out the speaker cable - don't use a guitar cable as a speaker cable (but I'm sure you knew that)

Have you done any preamp tube troubleshooting?

I would guess PI tube. All channels is a good clue.
