Hi Guys,
Wasn't sure where to post this so figured here would be best as I suspect more people check this forum....the question is relating to two pieces of equipment working together.

I currently have a Dual Rec head which I am pretty happy with. I mainly need a harmonizer unit. I also need some effects pedals but this can be put off, my immediate need is for the harmonizer. I am trying to stick with pedals versus rack gear. Originally I was looking at the Eventide Pitch Shifter which has good reviews, lots of videos on youtube and I was pretty sold on it. The only problem with this path is that the pedal is 500bux, which I would happily pay, but then you add up other pedals that I will eventually get and the cost goes very high very quick.

I recently discovered the TC Electronics Nova system and it seems to have mostly what I am looking for. The problem with this unit and my amplifier is that of the Effects loop in the Rectifier. I understand time based effects don't work too well with the type of effects loop the Rectifier has. Will running effects from the Nova system sound thin with my amp if I run it in front of the amp? I don't need the distortion from the pedal, just effects but mainly the harmonizer. If I run the harmonizer from the pedal, and it is before my amp (which provides the distortion) will this sound ok? I understand that pitch shifters should be before distortion (or is that rule mainly when using distortion pedals).

Another issue is that I don't believe this unit has true bypass. Can anyone mention if it sucks a noticeable amount of tone? Unfortunately the GC here does not have one in stock that I could tinker with. If you have run this setup and can provide any insight I would be greatly appreciative.

PS, Yes I searched the forum.

Thanks.
