I just bought a triple rectifier and the tubes in there are pairs of matched 6l6's 2 green, 2 gry, and 2 yellow. Does it matter that they are different color groups? Is it worth buying new tubes even though these are almost new? Thanks

Mark

You just need to check the manual or call Mesa to learn how the tube pairs are arranged in their sockets. A triple Recto is probably A-A, B-B, C-C. Put the colors together, green+green, grey+grey, yellow+yellow.
The colors are meant to match the tubes to each other in a given pair.
If you're OCD, get all the same color. I'd be interested to know if any difference in tone is detectable.
Hope this helps :D

Thanks I know the order of where the matched pairs go in sockets and have always been told to get all the same color group. But want to make sure it is cool to have them this way to save me $100 plus in tubes.
