i would like to take one of this two guitar heads: mark v 25 or rectoverb 25.
I would like to know what you think of these ,which do you think is the most ' versatile, which is better for live with the band, which takes better pedals expecially overdrive and distortion pedals.I have a mesa cab 2x12 horizontal to match with vintage 30.
thanks

Both are awesome in every way you describe. The Mark is more flexible, in that it has more modes and also a built in cab clone.

Both will be loud enough, both sound great. I own both for that reason.

well!!! I bought the mark v 25 ; compared with rectoverb 25 (wonderful guitar head) and i think the mark a bit ' better as sounds and quality!!!
now i would like to buy some pedals that work well with the head to obtain so as to achieve greater versatility and sound nuances to cover more ' types of rock music: i think a ts style pedal(or overdrive or boost) and a compressor pedal. for sure the diamond compressor but i'm undecided for the overdrive/booster/boost pedal.
what would you suggest me to match the head?

I'm using a Keeley Red Dirt and a Keeley Katana Blues Drive with my Mark25. The Red Dirt is as good or better than any other tubescreamer out there and sounds great with the Mark25. I like is so well I bought the new Katana Blues Drive. I Really like this one. The EQ is very interactive. I have it set for a transparent OD on the Fat channel. It sounds like I reached over and raised the gain knob on the amp when I kick it in.

I recommend a clean boost like the Mini Spark Boost. Or one with tone controls, like the the regular Spark Boost. As much as I love my OD808, I find the mid peak detracts from the overall tone of my V:25 in its current settings. I did like the 808 when I was running more scooped and with more gain. It had a more cutting effect.

I also use a BB Pre, which does a nice job of adding sustain and tone control without overwhelming the V:25's natural tone.
