I'm selling my DC-5. Original owner. Excellent condition. I'd say it's like new except that the rubber on the handle is split and it's a little dusty. Here are some pictures:

UPS Ground fully insured. Payable by e-check. You pay actual shipping costs. Email me at [email protected] if you're interested.

Thanks for the good words Andy. I think I'm going to keep the amp. Too much hassle, lowball offers, etc. Besides, I really like it and will use it when I get tired of using my Budda Superdrive. If anyone wants it, please ask only if you are serious and are willing to pay what I am asking. The amp is in excellent condition and is probably better than I described it. This isn't some beat up worn out amp with a facelift. All I did was wipe it off with a microfiber cloth. How many used DC-5s have the cover???? That should tell you something right there.

Anyway, to all who looked, thanks for the interest. If you want it and I feel like selling it, ask away, but know I want $800 and you pay actual shipping. It's worth the money - I don't keep junk. Enough said. Now I'm going to rock out for a while (using an attenuator of course).

Thanks. All I did was wipe it off with a microfiber cloth before snapping the pix. That's why I keep it covered up when it's not used. The final straw that made me decide to keep it (thanks BTW) was that someone on EBay wrote me and said that my price was exorbitant considering the condition of the amp (Paraphrasing his words). That was it for me. The final straw. Boogies retain their value and sometimes increase. Maybe this is sacrilege on this forum, but I lost interest in Mesa after they started putting out the Nomad series and tried to market their products to the "around a grand" demographic. The only amps I have liked from Mesa were the Mark IV, Tremoverb, and the DC-5, which I own. I had a V-Twin rackmount and 20/20 power amp I sold and bought the DC-5. A much better build - the VT had plastic stems on the pots - didn't impress me.

Anyway, thanks again for your comment. I just sent someone an email asking for 800 for the amp with 2 sets of power tubes and some extra preamp tubes (about 100 bucks worth of tubes). Now I've got to write him back to tell him I've changed my mind. Yay!!!!

I've always thought the DC-5 was one of Boogies "hidden treasures." Get that recto off your mind (even though they are cool) and go get one. What can't you do with it?

I agree that the DC series is a diamond in the rough so to speak. I went through a handful of Mesa's finest amps and landed on the DC-3. I was blinded by the nicer amps and always overlooked the DCs. Mine is almost as clean as yours and I keep it covered as well - had to buy the cover, but well worth it. The only other amp I'd consider is a DC-5 (although I like my shorthead and recto 1x12 cabs setup), or a Lonestar.

It's your amp still so i'm sure the guy will understand that you are keeping it - he'll have to understand! Haha.

Here here! You know diamond plating looks cool, but I wonder if it effects tone at all - just a rhetorical question. BTW he did understand but asked me to let him know if I ever want to sell it. I said I would let him know and the price would be 800 bucks.

I'm glad I kept it. I think I may use it and my 18 watt Superdrive together. Just have to figure out how to do it.
