A new discovery reveals that my Mark III Combo is quite rare? Can someone verify this?

I thought it was a "No Stripe", but upon further investigation there appears to be an "X" in black marker by the power cord:

Also, on the front panel, it does not indicate "MESA/Boogie Mark III"
Instead there is "MESA/Boogie Ltd." However, the Serial Number "15964" suggests that it is indeed a Mark III.

A little help please...

the mark can be a stripe, dot,x or nothing. The faceplate is a leftover IIB plate more than likely. These Just indicate ist's an eary III, not exactly rare. They are great amps, but probably the least collectable of the older boogies.

If it helps at all, my Mk III combo is #15260, has no stripe (but does have MB's initials), and like yours does not indicate Mk III anywhere.
