Hi

I was considering using my wood working knowledge and replacing the front panel on my roadster head in a fine figured timber. I would love to build a whole new cab but 1. I don't have the time, 2. I don't have the capital and 1+2 for a speaker cab! I think by just changing this the whole amp will look completely different and add a little pristige.

My question is, how easy would it be to remove the existing panel? Is it just a matter of removing the amp, and unscrewing, or is it glued in position?

Cheers!!

Gary

I've heard the front panel (black diamond plate and tolex) are attached and not easy or possible to remove...

Hey

I received my roadster the other day, all I had to do was remove the protective bar, remove the power tubes, then unscrew 2 fixing screws from behind the panel. As easy as that!

I will put some photos up when I have made and installed the new myrtalwood front panel.

Cheers

???? Maybe the Roadster is that easy cause here in the forum there's some people wanting to remove the diamond plate and always came up someone teeling its nearly impossible... This on Dual or Triples Rectos.
Good work then! Waiting to see that custom Roadster

Hey,

So I thought I might post some develpment photos. I recieved my Myrtlewood from the USA which I've-

plained
cut to size
profiled
routed the logo housing
Scraped
Sanded to a ultra smooth finish

I have just put the 1st coat of lacqure on the timber and by doing this the figuring jumps out, it looks amazing!

I have made 2 of these so hopefully I can recoupe the cost by selling one.

Enjoy-
