On the RK, no one used it, so out it came. IMO, EL-34's in triode were a muddy mess on that thing. It never gave me that Simul-Class type tone.

Mark IV with Simul/Triode/Presence Pulled = IIC+, IIRC.

That's what the manual says, but I don't know what IIC+ they were comparing it against. It's more like a C+ with the presence un-pulled. Even in Class A, both the C+ and MK IV are very bright and clear in comparision to the RK.

Triode mod not very popular even with the DIY crowd. Tubes ran in Triode mod actually need a different OT than tubes ran in pentode mode to get the best sound. I've never heard an amp in triode mode myself though. Saying that i'd give it a try on at least one amp build of my own just to hear it. If someone wanted to put triode mode into an amp i believe you just ground the screen grid, but without checking don't take my word on that.
