Proguitarshop demo for Dave Mustaine signature guitar.. I've never heard a DR sound like this.

Thats what my 3 Channel sounds like. Of course I have Duncan Blackouts in my guitar and thats exactly what comes in the Mustaine models. (His version anyways).

And thats not even on Channel 3!

What are your settings at? I want to give it a run ;)

sounds really close to my tone, too. I also prefer ch. 2 modern over ch. 3 modern.
gain at noon, pres. off, treb noon, mid at 11:00, bass at 1-2:00. output and solo at 12:30 and master to taste. kick it with a tube screamr too with the level cranked, gain off and tone at 9-10:00

gain 12:00
presence 9:00,
treble 12:00
mid 11:00
bass 1:30
Channel output about 11:30
Master to taste.

I use both Channel 2 and 3 for basically the same setting, with a bit more mids and slightly more gain in 3.

The cabinet is probaly loaded with greenbacks or 30 watt aniversary speakers so that would also account for it.

Sounds crunchy indeed, but I'm not too sure about being the crunchiest sounding Dual Rectifier...

Pro Guitar shops says he is using a M. I.Audio Crunchbox for distortion. Cab has a lot to do with it as well.
