I did a recording to compare the preamps of my Mesa Boogie studio Preamp and my Pre500 Dual Rectifier (No#0430).

There is a long hystory of people saying the whole pre500 is true or bull.
This is only the preamp, what the poweramp does I can't include in this tread.
There is NO overdrive- or any other pedal used to tighten or boost the amps!!
Check the zipfile, I included printscreens of the eq and impulse setting, my DI file and mp3's of how it sounds.
The DI was recorded with a Ibanez ICJ100WZ with a Seymour Duncan Custom5.
There is also a link to Le Pou's LeCab2, a great FREE impulse loader.
I didn't include the reverb, but anyone will have a free reverb.
Settings on Pre500 Recto: Red/Modern, Master 12 O'clock, Presence 11 O'clock, Bass 1 O'clock, Mid 2 O'clock, Treble 2 O'clock, Gain 2 O'clock.

With these files people can record the preamp of their Recto and compare them with the preamp of the pre500.
I think the pre500 sounds more like a Mark series than the later recto's, my 2 cents.

Cheers,
Tom
