Hello, I'd like to know if someone uses Mark V channel 1 as clean base for overdrive or distortion pedals.
Which mode CLEAN or FAT?
Switch NORMAL or BOLD?
What settings?

Now I'm using:
clean mode
switch normal
90w
gain 10:00
volume 10:00
presence 11:00
treble 11:00
mid 12:00
bass 12:00

output 10:00

I use the Fat Mode
switch in BOLD
90w

Gain - 12:00
Volume - 12:00
Presence - 11:00
Treble - 12:00
Mid - 10:00
Bass - 11:00

I use the preset EQ at about noon as well.

A lot of drive pedals will give lend their own EQ to the sound, so I find that (In may case) it is best to have the clean platform scooped a bit because my drive pedals add in a good amount of mid range. (TS9 silver, Phantom OD)

If your using distortion pedals, perhaps the scoop may not be needed, and a bit more mids will be necessary...

Also worth noting that I use the MV clean mode with three dirt pedals (TS9 - Phantom OD, SRB 808), and this has gotten me very far with all the different sounds needed from boost to high gain, and has sounded great live and in the studio. So much so, that I have not used my channel 2 or 3 in over a year. Channel one has so much clarity and dynamics.

My clean settings are pretty much the same except I have the preset EQ knob set to the 9:00 position. I usually only use the preset EQ on the clean channel when using pedals at low volume.
