Hello.

I'm switching my Dual Rectifier with the TC ELectronics G Major 2, using a mono cable (the Y-Split seems to damage the amp, from what I've heard). I set the selector in channel 3 and inserted G major cable in channel 1. The problem is that when Channel 1 is working, the light in channel 3 is also active (dispite the sound being from channel 1). I Only use this two channels, so this solution works for me, without having to spend money in a midi converter. My problem is if this setup damages in any way the amp.

Thanks in advance

You should be able to use the Y splitter thing, I thought there was a way to change the relays from latching to pulse on the G-Major. That's what you need! You should be able to turn the Solo on and off too.

That's what I thought... Might be confusing it with something else though. Give it a shot.

I use a Y-cable for the channel switching on my 3 channel triple rectifier with the G major. So basically, the Stereo head plug into the switch then the 2 mono goes out to the channel 1 and channel 3 on the recto. U will need to set the relay in the G major to on or off. By default when both is off, it will be on channel 2. I'm not sure if it will damage the amp but it works fine for me currently. Still need to find a way to activate the solo control. Hope there is someone out there who knows how to do it. :D

From What I've read, using the Y-split cable, can damage the Channel switching circuit, because it works with common ground and the dual rectifier uses idependent ground for all three channels plus solo and fx loop functions. I'm I wrong? I'll be happy If I do. :D

Mesa recommends using isolated grounds for the channel triggers, common ground is fine for FX Loop and Solo, at least that is what they told me when I called about that with a Triple I owned before the Roadster. However, many here succesfuly use their G-Maj to switch channels on their 3-Ch Recto. I use an Axess CFX4, didn't want to chance it.

I think I'll use only mono cable to switch from channel 1 to channel 3. Anyway, how much is the Axess CFX4?

I don't know if this is good for the amp either.

Axess no longer makes the CFX4. You'll need to look for a used one. There's one on E-Bay right now at a BIN of $139.99 US.

It's a great unit, I highly recommend it.
