I took the Mark V tonight to rehearsal for the first time tonight. When I switched to channel 3, it worked for a second and then it sounded like a cable wasn't making good contact. Almost like there was a short. I switched over to channel 1 and then to channel 2 and those were fine. I tried everything I could think of, power cycling the amp, re-seating the cable to the foot controller, etc. I looked at the power tubes and noticed the one closest to the power switch was not as bright in appearance as the others. I made sure that tube was seated properly, but that did not help either.

Any way, I played the whole rehearsal with channels one and two. The guys in the band commented how good the amp sounded. I wish they could have heard channel 3!!!

I will be contacting Mesa Boogie Hollywood first thing in the morning and hopefully taking a trip down there as well.

sorry to hear that..... did you try engaging channel 3 with out the foot control ? if that doesn't work you may have a bad preamp tube :(

good luck

It turns out the problem was a bad V3 tube. The guys at the Mesa Boogie Hollywood store replaced it for me.
