My rectifier tube blew a few days ago so I picked up a couple of replacements today. I also picked up a couple sets of GT EL34's (Red 8) and replaced all the tubes when I returned home.

Yes I did set the bias switch to EL34! :D

When I turned the power on to the amp, the red Caution light came on. All the tubes light up, and I also replaced the fuse, so I'm not sure what to do!

don't worry the red light is just an indicator light that tells you the amp is on EL34 mode"...
when I bought my mkV back in December it came with EL34s in it and when I turned it on
I was freaking out there was something wrong with the amp................not so :)

Thanks! I'm going to put them back into my amp right now (well, after the 6l6's cool down a bit) and give 'em a whirl!

One of my tubes already went up in smoke!

Back to the 6l6's for now.

Be careful, the class A positions run hot. What rating were the GT EL34's?

Did you check the bias? I have a quad of JJ E34L's that draw about 65% MPD in my Roadster & Stiletto (@ stock bias setting) but in my MV they go into 90+% MPD in the Class A sockets. They would red-plate for sure.
