can i disconnect speakers while in standby?

if i turn the amp to standby and disconnect the speackers and plug into another cab before turning back on will this harm the amp?
i know i shouldnt have it on with no speakers connected but is it ok in standby to do it, or should i always power off?

As long as the amplifier is in standby you can safely unplug the speakers.
