I figured I couldn't pass it up! And I don't know for sure it's a rev. F!! Probably is, but if I scored a C or D, I might **** bricks.YellowJacket said:TheMagicEight said:I sure did!!!mikey383 said:I know someone scored on it...that's for sure!

Haha, did you just snipe that auction!?
Someone has a bad case of GAS! You know, you can always swap out the headshell from that amp with the one from your Rev F if it is in better shape. From reading another thread of yours, I guess the Rev F needs a trip to the amp doctor, hmm? If you want to flip that amp, you'll probably have to get it fixed up.
Did you think of doing a visual inspection of the underside of your Rev F to see if there is anything that is physically wrong with it? If everything looks ok, you can always try rocking the tubes gently in a circular motion. I hear the contacts can get dirty if they are unused for awhile. An amp builder told me my propensity for always swapping tubes was actually healthy for my amp.
If none of that works, you either need to actually know something about electronics or know someone who does. Hopefully it isn't a big repair.
True! Honestly, I'm thinking about putting one of the Rectifiers towards a Mark V. I just learned that Guitar Center doesn't charge a restocking fee if I decide it's not what I want, so I might try one to put up against my other amps for a month.YellowJacket said:Hey, look on the bright side. If you end up with two Rev Fs, you can send the 'broken' one in to Mesa and have them repair it and mod it to Rev C specs!

We agreed on a price for the damage. I'm going to try and work out a claim with FedEx first, but if that doesn't go well, I'm still covered.YellowJacket said:Well, there is such a market for early duals that I'm sure if you get that mod done, you can even make a bit of cash flipping one of those amps. Perhaps you can also negotiate the price down with the seller for that damaged unit? (you know, to avoid the hassle of shipping it back and all that)
I don't blame you for wanting to try a Mark V. They sound ridiculously awesome. I always wondered why Mesa hadn't reissued the Mark IIc+ or the Mark IV and then it hit me. They are a company who is obsessed with moving forward, so in their minds, releasing the Mark V is their way of doing such a reissue, even if we don't think it is the same ball of yarn.
Oh, this reminds me. Did you unload the Marshall and/or the Triple already? Gotta update that sig!!
With the serial effects loop? I thought the Gs only came with parallel...Silverwulf said:That amp could technically still be a Rev G, though less likely. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if it's a C or D.

Anyway, it's an F! Not quite as rare as C - E, but it still sounds awesome!
