Cable questions for my nwew Mark III coli

Two questions:

So I just started messing with the pedals and the eq/reverb pedal is only working for reverb and not eq. I checked tha manual and it says I have to use a stereo cable which I'm assuming is different than a regular guitar cable. Could that be the problem?

Secondly. The power cable looks to be permanently attached to the chassis and not one of those interchangeable cables. Is there anything I can do about that. It looks really frayed where it goes into the amp.

Yup, the Reverb/EQ cable is a stereo, or TRS (Tip, Ring, Sleeve) cable.
The Hosa CSS-520 is an example.
