Cabinets for Mesa f-50

Hello I have a Mesa f-50 combo but played in a live situation last weekend where I had to use the 8 ohm combo out to drive a 2x12 16 ohm cab off stage. It worked fine but are there any long term effects I should be aware of? The amp sounded great.

You can drive 2x the listed impedance without problems.
