CabClone IR+ question

Hi, does anyone know when the red warning light should light up? I thought it was when the speaker/load switch is set to SPRK and no speaker is actually connected to the back of the IR+? When I do this, the red warning light does not come on. Is my IR+ defective?

Actually heard back from mesa on this (I sent an email) and it seems a fair amount of signal must be going into the CCIR+ before the little red warning light goes on (with speaker cable unplugged and SPKR selected). Ends up that is indeed the case on the one I have!
