Bye Bye Peavey 212 cab.....Hello Mesa 212 half open back!!

Woohoo!! I finally got a matching Mesa for my TA and 20/20. The one I have is kind of unique in that it's the 212 but it's Stereo (which is what I wanted in order to go with the 20/20 without mods). The only bad thing is that instead of the EV 12L on bottom it came with an Eminence 50 watter labeled a "Vintage" speaker. I am already hunting an EV 12L on ebay and will put the eminence speaker on ebay. I replaced the eminence with an extra celestion G85K i had laying around which will serve me until I get the EV in there. I also need to track down a new logo.


Does anyone know if the guitar version of the EVM 12L is the same as the PA version? I found one on Ebay that came out of a PA cab but I don't want to buy it if it's not voiced for guitar.

I know EVM 12L is a really really transparent speaker, but I'm not sure it is the same version as the PA cab.

On other forums there's some discussion of subbing an Eminence delta pro 12 instead of using a EVL since they are getting pretty old. The delta pro is a PA driver and Eminence does not make one for guitar(hence why I feel the same is true with the EVM). I just bought an OEM EVM 12L off of Ebay for $78 so I will see how it turns out. If i don't like it I can probably sell it for what I paid for it and try something else but I have a feeling it will be similar to the ones that Boogie would use as stock for the mark and thiele cabs.

Eitherway I will probably have to wait a week for it to arrive before I come to any conclusions.
