Hi I want to start building my rack ... I have a head and a cab and one overdrive pedal ... I want a Multi-effect processor, a rack piece that can change the channels of my mark iv and has effects loops, a midi controller. can you recommend me which one to get of each one that i pointed out, which one to get first and if you think i'm missing something please tell me ... thanks for your time ...

You could look at the rockman line of products. Their effects, such as Chorus, Echo etc are THE BEST you can find anywhere. 100% analog, studio quality gear.
As for your channel shifting, try the Rockman Octopus. You can connect up to 8 different devices to it, and assign which device you wanna use in which preset.
Couple that with a rockman midi footswitch, and you got an awesome rig.

I love Rockman stuff, probably have 2 of everything :)

Maybe I'll throw a small rig together today for grins.

+1 on the Rockman stuff!! Been using the Octopus for years!! Love this unit. Got a spare, just in case, and a couple of the remote loops too. The octopus has 8 switches and the Mark IV has 6 options, then 2 are left open for remote loops/pedals. I have used it with my Mark IV, because it will handle all the switching, from channels to EQ to Simul/Class A. Then, simply attach the remote loops and be able to switch pedals in the rack on and off via any midi controller. It has been flawless for about 20 years.

Never really got any of the other component items, however, I have a XPR preamp, that pretty much does most of it. Fun to play with, although not a part of my regular gig rig.

Have fun 8)

Rockmans are THE BEST non-tube guitar modules. Period!
And with some decent EQuing, you can get any tone out of em, and get pretty damn close to a quality tube amp. I mean hey, we're talking Mr Scholz here.

I'd love to have an XPR. Those are pretty damn sweet I must say. I currently own a Sustainor 100, Chorus/Echo and an X100.
