And yes, that is me getting tons of heat from morons who would love to have one of these things.

Ugh, this guy should be named The Tone Hutt, I really dislike his approach to demos, not very helpful (for determining what little shade of an amp's general character you can from a simple YT video).

The Bugera on the other hand, is a nice amp. I tried their Peavey knock-off and it didn't sound that far off from the original - that difference was definitely not worth 700€ :)

These guys are a bunch of teenagers who all own Marshall MGs, Vox Valvetronix, Peavey Transtube, etc., so for them, this presents a definite and huge upgrade. If I was forced at gunpoint to choose between a Bugera and a Solid State practice amp, I'd choose the Bugera hands down. You have to admit, the power scaling is cool. I've tried the feature on an Egnater and it basically functions as a 'power amp distortion' knob, which makes it easier to get cranked tones at low volumes. I've heard a Bugera demo'd in person and it is absolutely incredible the tone you can get for >$400.

All said, the Bugera is not in the same league as Mesa, but by a long shot. Furthermore the build quality is questionable. I talked to a music store and was informed that many Bugera amps come back for warranty repairs. You get what you pay for!

To my ears, that really didn't sound very good at all. No dynamic and the speakers just kept farting out. Probably didn't help that it was demoed on a camera mic. Still, I just find it funny that to make an amplifier line, Bugera does nothing but take all of the components of well known amps and make them overseas with cheaper components. There is a reason that they are COPYING, almost exactly, what has already been done. The originals are tried and true, and they figure they can trick the general, lower budget bedroom guitarist or hobbyist into thinking they have something that can stand in the same realm as Rectos, Marshalls, Bogners, etc. Haven't seen any huge names switch from their amp company to Bugera. Not even gear whores like Dave Mustaine or Zakk Wylde who could both get a siggy Bugera amp in a heartbeat  ! To me, it's kind of like how how the designers for Jaguar copped the Aston Martin design on their newest two door XK sports car. Even though it looks like it, it still isn't an ASTON. 8)

That is great, if you can afford an Aston and you drive one on a regular basis. Keep in mind, most of the guys lusting after the Jag all own ford escorts.
