I have seen multiple references to Petrucci and Metallica. Is there any love for Buckethead? I have seen him several times and his rig is always the same 2 DR (I believe, could be Triple rec) halfstacks. He has some of the greatest tones I've heard.
In fact I would love to be able to reproduce some of those tones on my rig, any suggestions? The tap kill switch on his les paul is pretty swet to.
If anyone reading this is unfamiliar I recomend Colonel Claypools Bucket of Bernie Brains or Giant Robot. The Praxis stuff is really good too.

I just did a quick search and came across him playing with a 3 channel recto in the background. Not sure if its his cause there is another bands gear on stage. One thing is, unless he's been interviewed, you never know if an amp has been mod'ed.

Now that you got me thinkin about it (thanks a lot! haha) I might have to check out a Triple Recto just to see how close it can get to my Soldanos. :D

I've seen buckethead play live a few times and once he was using an ampeg combo, with a Line6 modeller on the floor (not sure which one). And another time he was using a 5150 head. The third time I saw him he had a Marshall head, then also had a line6 vetta. He used Gibson and Epiphone guitars. He also had a keyboard.

He was playing in a GNR cover band at the time.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buckethead has some of that info there

Intersting. I have never seen him in that scenerio. I saw him solo a couple times and I saw him with Primus. And each time he had the same rig. Two half stacks right next to each other behind him, both mesa resto heads. I have also seen that he uses Marshall and Diezel amps. His tone and ability are rediculous.

I came across this interview with him and this is what he has to say about the Dual Rectifiers:

But Buckethead, a fan of solid-state gear's even response and good tracking is just as likely to turn up at a gig
with a VHT Pitbull 50 watt head, and for a recent "Buckethead and Friends" show at Manhattan's Wetlands he rented TWO Mesa dual rectifier full stacks and ran them in stereo. "That sounded soooo gnarly", he gushes "I was freaking
out."

He really rips it up at this show and the crowd is really into it...

That must be his current rig. I saw him playing that exact setup less than a year ago. He kkeps a set of chucks on top of each head, breaks off into some TMNT during the show. Sounds awesome!
