I have a horizontal 2x12 recto cabinet that got flooded during the Katrina. I the scramble of the flood my buddy somehow grabbed the cabinet by the name plate and it pulled the grill off and broke the center of the baffle off.The grill and baffle are wrecked. I've not had enough money to fix it and it's been sitting. I loved that cabinet. Does anyone know if if Mesa sells a preassembled baffle boards, grill cover and all? I guess the other option is to make a baffle.

Mesa will certainly send you a replacement grill but it probably will not be cheap. If you want to go the DIY route you can get grill cloth from Mojotone and make the plywood frame. It's really not hard to do if you own a jigsaw and a heavy duty stapler.

What I've done so far today is to soak the warped baffle board in white glue and recompress it with clamps. It's dried and is pretty much back to it's original shape. I removed all the staples and as somebody mentioned there were about 4000 staples that originally head the grill covering on.

I washed the grill cloth on the floor of the shower! I actually shampooed it to get the dirt off. It's about 90% clean.

I may be able to put this whole thing back together. We'll see.

Really, this worked?

My old cat puked on my Mark III once. I sold the chassis but not the combo shell. I never got it clean enough.

Well the amazing to me is that the grill cloth didn;t shrink when It dried. I layed it on a towel and then rolled it up in the towel tube. I ran a slightly warm hairdrier down the towel tube. But I got paranoid about it shrinking so I stopped, layed it back flat and let it dry over night.

Mine is about 90% clean. In a medium lit room I won't be able to see the old mud stain. So on yours you may want to let it soak in a detergent bath to loosen up your old puke....ah...er...your cat's old puke...

I reassembled everything at it looks really good. I still am curious what Mesa would charge me for a new assembled baffle.

I did speak with Mesa. They don't sell the grill cloth, piping, of grill frame separately. They do have a completed baffle with the piping and name plate incuded for about $170 plus shipping. Good to know. They mentioned that their authorized repar center also do not have access to grill cloth, piping, etc., only completed assemblies. Interesting.

The piping is the only thing I have left to do. Odd how black piping isn't as readily available on the web. Does anyone know where black piping can be found. http://www.Vibroworld.com appears to be out of business.
