Bought Studio Pre...What power amp?

First off great preamp!!! It lives up to the hype. I have a IIC+ modded Mark III and I think this preamp is very similar in tone but seems more articulate and with a tad more gain on hand. Thelead lines from this preamp are just butter.

So now I am looking at either the 2:50 power amp or the old 50/50 to pair it up with. Is either better suited over the other?

I have two quads so I hope my opinion counts I also have a Mark 3 blue stripe. I've tried the quads through the Mark 3 power section and also through a 50/50 and as ugly as the 50/50 is , I must says that it is a perfect marriage with the quad and should be with the studio as well.

The 50/50 power amp is very responsive and strikes a good balance between transparency and warmth. The newer 2-50 in my opinion lacks the same transparency and moves more towards a warm voicing . I guess I'd say the 2-50 has a more colored tone.

The good news is that the 50/50 is a tank and is very affordable which seems to make it even more desirable
