Boosting a pre 500 Rec

Hello,

I have 2 Pre 500 Dual Rec's and I wanted to see what the best boost in for them? Any suggestions?

I use an OCD pedal from Fulltone. I set the gain to zero, and the level all the way up. That way it doesn't add any pedal distortion, only a hotter signal. Makes a huge difference.
